Spider-Man PS4 Gameplay
At E3 2017, Insomniac finally dropped an update on the game, with over 8 minutes of gameplay footage, showing a number of goodies including combat, web-swinging and numerous action-packed chase sequences.
The wall-crawling wonder’s new combat style is really fluid and very similar to what we’ve seen from the previous Batman Arkham series, giving both variation and impact. Not only this, but there is a whole host of new gadgets and gizmos to try out, our favourite being his web-traps, exploding and pinning the baddies to the walls and ceilings.
The game includes classic villains such as Wilson Fisk (King Pin) and Mr Negative, the main nemesis in this chase sequence. Many villains will be found sprawled across New York City, and as Spider-Man, you are getting free-roam. The map is “four to six time larger” than Sunset Overdrive, Insomniac’s 2014 title, and the entire map is accessible from the get-go.

Is Spider-Man PlayStation VR Compatible?
Unfortunately, for VR aficionados out there, we still don’t have a way to get inside the web-head. Jay Ong, Marvel’s Senior VP of Games and Innovations, stated in an article with GameStop, that:
“We think if we do something there it shouldn’t be just for the novelty of it. It should be something that defines the platform, that defines the experience.”
With Insomniac’s credibility and Marvel’s weight behind it, we can only wait with anticipation for the next instalment.
