Release Date, Trailer, Gameplay and more…

Following numerous reboots, Marvel have started a fresh chapter in the life of Spidey – the first since 2014’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2. This time, we will be dropped into a new tale in the midst of his crime-fighting antics around New York City.
We can expect an action-packed instalment, chasing bad-guys along the city streets and crashing through storefronts, with an all-new parkour dynamic, shown in the gameplay trailer below.
Spider-Man PS4 Gameplay
At E3 2017, Insomniac finally dropped an update on the game, with over 8 minutes of gameplay footage, showing a number of goodies including combat, web-swinging and numerous action-packed chase sequences.
The wall-crawling wonder’s new combat style is really fluid and very similar to what we’ve seen from the previous Batman Arkham series, giving both variation and impact. Not only this, but there is a whole host of new gadgets and gizmos to try out, our favourite being his web-traps, exploding and pinning the baddies to the walls and ceilings.
Having such an in-depth look at the new Spidey crusades, it’s encouraging to see that some classic villains are already appearing, Wilson Fisk (King Pin) and Mr Negative, the main nemesis in this chase sequence. Many villains will be found sprawled across New York City, and as Spider-Man, you are getting free-roam. Insomniac have even confirmed to GamesRadar, that Spider-Man PS4 will have a map “four to six time larger” than Sunset Overdrive, Insomniac’s 2014 title, and that the entire map will be accessible from the get-go.

Spider-Man PS4 Release Date
The question we’re all asking though, is “When will the wall-crawling wonder return?”. At E3 2017 it was officially announced that Spider-Man PS4 will be released in 2018.
There are no specific dates, or even months yet, but we can only hope that this is just a month or two into the new year, rather than an extended delay. However, this postponement makes sense, with some of the huge AAA titles due out around the Christmas Holidays (Star Wars Battlefront 2, Assassin's Creed Origins).
In the meantime, you can pre-order from Amazon UK.

Is Spider-Man PS4 Pro Compatible?
The Sony PS4 Pro has proven a step-up in terms of console power, and at its launch we got the great news that the upcoming Spider-Man game will be PS4 Pro compatible.
Is Spider-Man PlayStation VR Compatible?
Unfortunately, for VR aficionados out there, it doesn’t look like we will have a way to get inside the web-head. Jay Ong, Marvel’s Senior VP of Games and Innovations, stated in an article with GameStop, that:
“We think if we do something there it shouldn’t be just for the novelty of it. It should be something that defines the platform, that defines the experience.”
With Insomniac’s credibility and Marvel’s weight behind it, as well as E3 2017 on the horizon, we can only wait with anticipation for the exciting return of our friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man.
